Are You Standing On Rock Or Sand?

Are You Standing On Rock Or Sand?

“It’s a good thing to have all the props pulled out from under us occasionally. It gives us some sense of what is rock under our feet, and what is sand.”

— Madeleine L'Engle

There are plenty of reminders out there to create balance in our lives and look for ways to change our behaviour into more value-aligned ways that generate the prized sense of equilibrium.

But what exactly does balance look like in your life and what energy is the Tower reflecting to you?

Many fear The Tower’s arrival in a reading, being representational of an external destruction that brings a sense of foreboding over what you can’t control.

However, I look at it as an intensely welcome illustration of internal change and the promise of fertile beginnings.

The outer shell of avoidant behaviour born from attempts to control the very things you fear the most - rejection and abandonment - now falls away giving birth to new shoots of transformation. A way of being that informs a grounded sense of personal control and emotional balance, is rooted in knowledge that only your hindsight and experience can provide.

“Be at least as interested in what goes on inside you as what happens outside. If you get the inside right, the outside will fall into place. Primary reality is within, secondary reality without.”

— Eckhart Tolle

The Tower disassembles your old fears using inarguable evidence of emerging personal change, self care, learning and autonomy. You’ve been edging yourself closer to believing in yourself; strengthening your intuitive discernment that brings awareness in all manner of ways from the tangible to that of synchronicity.

Emotional balance was missing from within the walls that aggressively retained a false sense of authority or control, but instead is now found by being able to allow in the discomfort of forever changing human emotion. In growth, your response is informed by your attention, intention and consideration that represents who you are at core.

Being comfortable with the uncertainty of not having it all mapped out and ‘in flow’, is a goal of personal power that does not betray your sense of self or best interests that is found in the avoidant behaviour not reflective of your soul’s truth.

“From the structures and the belief systems that no longer hold true for you, what is emerging? What emotional coping skills do you have that will support you through this transitionary time that helps you to move forward aligned with your intention?”
