Automotive and Commercial Vehicle Experts from IHS Markit to Speak at AAPEX, Share Industry Insights

SOUTHFIELD, Mich. (October 18, 2018) – Automotive and commercial vehicle experts from IHS Markit (Nasdaq: INFO) will share an overview of key industry trends impacting the global automotive aftermarket, commercial vehicle market and the expected role new technology will play in impacting the aftermarket during the annual Automotive Aftermarket Products Expo (AAPEX), October 30 - November 1, 2018 in Las Vegas.

Leaders from the aftermarket, commercial vehicle and technology teams at IHS Markit will take part in the convention program this year and will be available for interviews during the event.

Highlights of IHS Markit presentations during the AAPEXedu sessions are as follows:

Technology Transforming Transportation, Tues., Oct. 30, 2-3 p.m., The Venetian, Marco Polo Room 703 -- Jeremy Carlson, principal automotive analyst and manager, autonomous driving and new mobility, will focus on how technology is changing the way we move about the world, and how automated and connected driving technology will create numerous opportunities to rethink personal mobility. He also will cover consumer adoption, regulation, and technology readiness and availability, and how it will influence the transformation of transportation. Advanced Driver Assist Systems, automated driving, autonomous technology, and connected and shared mobility also will be covered.

Automotive Industry Outlook: Navigating the Waters of Investment, Trade and Execution, Wed., Oct. 31, 10-11 a.m. The Venetian, Marco Polo Room 704 -- Mike Wall, executive, automotive analysis, will provide a high-level review of global economic and light vehicle sales and production trends. The presentation also will provide a deeper dive look at North America vehicle sales and production, the status and impact of ongoing NAFTA trade negotiations and an assessment of trade developments with other regions. Finally, a discussion around possible scenarios regarding vehicle sales will be provided.

Import Vehicle Community Awards Luncheon: Five Trends in Five Minutes (brief version), Wed., Oct. 31, 12-1 p.m., The Venetian, Veronese 2401. Seng, global aftermarket practice leader at IHS Markit, will share a preview of his Five Trends in Five Minutes presentation -- with special focus on the US import market -- during the Import Vehicle Community Awards Luncheon. Five Trends in Five Minutes: Trends Impacting the Global Aftermarket (full version), Wed., Oct. 31, 2-3 p.m. The Venetian, Marco Polo Room 706. Seng will share his annual overview of key industry trends and new insight affecting the global aftermarket. From the ever-changing new vehicle market to the aging of the fleet, the automotive aftermarket continues to evolve. These new vehicle trends are impacting aftermarket repair opportunities faster than ever before.

Commercial Vehicle Overview: A Market in Motion, Thurs., Nov. 1, 10-11 a.m. The Venetian, Marco Polo Room 703. Dawn Brusseau, product management associate director at IHS Markit will share insights on current trends shaping the commercial vehicle market, including regional highlights, future trucking trends and a vision into impact of electrification, alternative fuels and autonomy on fleets, OEMs and suppliers.

AAPEX ADAS Forum - Servicing ADAS-Enabled Vehicles, Thurs., Nov. 1, 11 a.m.–1 p.m., The Venetian, Marco Polo Room 701. Todd Campau, research and analysis associate director at IHS Markit, will participate in a panel discussion on the opportunities and risks of maintaining vehicles equipped with today’s advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS).

IHS Markit Exhibit Details

IHS Markit will demonstrate its solutions suite for the global passenger and commercial vehicle aftermarket at its exhibit for the duration of the show, Booth #4876 at the Sands Expo Center. Experts will be on hand for product demonstrations and discussions on several products, including its WorldView solution, which provides detail and analytics to help those doing business in the aftermarket make critical business decisions. Also included will be demonstrations of its new Market Performance Analysis Tool, which allows aftermarket companies to analyze unit and dollar volume by product line and compare actual transaction pricing against competition – over time and by geographic regions – utilizing WorldView.
