Best confectionery buys for getting back to business

After a sunny bank holiday weekend, busy half term and with the whole of the UK re-opening for business, the leisure sector is being offered advice on customer favourites ahead of a busy summer.

Children’s novelty toys are always a tempting treat over the summer months. A great treat for kids to enjoy whilst cooling off is the Crazy Candy Factory Giant Sweet Soaker - a water pistol filled with fruit flavoured candy.

The pack of 12 pistols, each with 8g of candy, cost £6.60. This offers retailers profits of 34% when sold at £1 each.

Ice cream flavoured sweets are set to be a summer favourite and the Kingsway Ice Cream Mini Dot jelly sweets go down a treat. They are also great for topping ice creams and adding a tasty treat to the top of a milkshake. 3kg (approximately 790 pieces) costs £4.49.

The Crazy Candy Factory Ice Cream Cone Tubs are a yummy foam alternative to sticky fingers, still with all the creamy taste of a typical cone. Each drum costs £4.99.

Candyfloss is always a hit on sunny days. The spun sugar from Crazy Candy Floss Clouds comes in a 50g tub and is perfect to enjoy by the beach, in the back garden or at a party. For grown-ups, it also tastes lovely on top of cocktails and drinks.

Retailers can get six 50g tubs for £3.60, when sold at £1 retailers can make a profit of 28%.

Brits enjoying summer holidays and breaks from school and work will enjoy the brand-new treats added to Hancocks range.

Mallow Squeaking Walking Stick is a recent addition to the novelty sweets collection. The plastic walking stick is filled with a long 18g mallow cable has a fun squeaky toy at the end of a stick for little ones to play with.

Coming in packs of 24 for £26.40 and selling at £1.99 per stick, retailers can make profits of more than 33%.

Cadbury Flake Pieces are a summertime must-have and make the perfect topping to any ice cream or milkshake.

Sweet Bandit’s Mad Science Mini Chews are great for feeding scientific masterminds over the summer holidays.

The assorted flavoured chewy candies come in packs of 12 fun science beakers filled with 80g of tangy treats.

Hancocks, have also added some new licensed character dispensers to its popular PEZ collection.

There are four characters to collect from Spirit, the popular film and TV series. The Pez Spirit Impulse Packs are the perfect novelty item for fans and their families.

The popular Pixar film Cars has three characters to collect from the Pez Cars Impulse Packs range.

Retailers can buy 12 packs of Pez for £10.99, each containing one dispenser and two individually wrapped tubes of tasty Pez sweets.

These are the perfect impulse item, especially when displayed in a prominent location to encourage interest. Retailing at £1.49 per unit, sellers can expect to make profits of over 25%.
