Bid and Tender Support have been walking their socks off. The team completed a joint total of 598,039 steps in a charity walking challenge, raising an impressive £510 in the process.
The total number of steps was achieved between the dates of the 16th and the 23rd of May, and was all for a good cause; the walk-a-thon raised money to support the work of UK charity Guide Dogs for the Blind.
The team worked hard to achieve the highest step count possible — whatever the weather. But the top spot for the most walking during the dates went to team member, Lesley. She completed a staggering 141,258 steps. Her Chocolate Labrador, Ralf, was also by her side. He loved the long walks but was reportedly glad when the challenge was over!
The company would especially like to thank all their supporters during the challenge. Backers of the event ranged widely, from corporate support, individual sponsorship, to just supporting in spirit. Every good wish and contribution was very grateful received by the team.
The team’s chosen charity, Guide Dogs for the Blind, carry out important work which includes training dogs for highly skilled roles as a guide dog, research into supporting the dogs and their carers, and of course, pairing the guide dogs with suitable companions and those in need.
Guide dogs are often a vital lifeline for those with visual impairments, enabling them to live life to the full. Donations like those made by the Bid and Tender Support Walk-a-thon help Guide Dogs for the Blind to continue their great work.
