NIO 333 fans night event heat up
ABB Formula E Race at Home Challenge finished its championship with a double -header weekend. It also gave NIO 333 FE Team the first chance to stage a fans night since New Year’s Day celebration. 50 lucky fans were involved in the first event after the COVID-19 pandemic, participating in Go Kart races, interactive activities and lucky draws. They also watched the Chinese team complete in the final race of the virtual electric racing championship.
Different to a traditional double-header, a virtual twin race weekend allowed the field of Formula E racer to complete in two locations at the same weekend. Drivers raced on the New York Brooklyn Street Circuit in the opening race. On Sunday, Berlin’s Tempelhof Airport Street Circuit is the location for the double-points-paying championship finale.
Oliver Turvey finished 10th in Saturday’s racing. The British driver’s another top ten finish helped the team to secure the 11th position in the team’s championship. Teammate Ma Qinghua were unfortunately involved in incidents once again. The Chinese driver was crashed into by opponents. He tried his best to fight back, but the damages done at the start were too much to catch up for.
A number of lucky NIO clients also participated in the event taking place at Race League’s Go Kart track (Shanghai, China). Getting to know about Formula E and the team’s journey, they had an eye-opening night which included a Go Kart race with Ma. After continuous success in online promotion and fans night events, NIO 333 is planning to further expand fan events in anticipation for the resume of season 6.
