Burton-upon-Trent, October 11, 2021 – Pirelli has been announced as the official tyre supplier for the F4 British Championship certified by FIA from 2022.
The agreement with Motorsport UK – the national governing body and organiser of the new-look British F4 championship from next season – furthers Pirelli’s commitment to supporting and promoting young talent in racing.
Pirelli tyres will be fitted to the new second-generation Tatuus F4 car, which features the halo cockpit protection device and an Abarth engine producing 180 horsepower.
This means that young drivers taking their first steps in car racing in British F4 will be able to climb the single-seater ladder all the way to Formula 1 with Pirelli, which also supplies Formula Regional, Formula 3 and Formula 2. Drivers to have graduated from British F4 in the past include current McLaren F1 star Lando Norris, as well as the current Formula 2 championship leader Oscar Piastri and newly-crowned Formula 3 champion Dennis Hauger.
Pirelli already has a strong relationship with Formula 4 around the world, supplying championships in Italy, Germany and France among others.
The British F4 calendar features 30 races across 10 weekends alongside the British Touring Car Championship, taking in classic circuits such as Silverstone, Brands Hatch and Donington Park.
