Two twilight races on the reversed Berlin Tempelhof Airport Circuit resumes the 2019-2020 ABB FIA Formula E Championship. NIO 333 FE team misses the target of scoring points, but the improvements shown during the races bring confidence to the team.
The 2.355km circuit presents brand new challenges to the team of the world’s premier electric racing series. Hosting the first 2 races of the Season Six Finale, the reserved layout gives the Chinese team an opportunity to show its progress completed during the series’ suspension.
During the two qualifying sessions, Oliver Turvey continued his great performance in Formula E. The British driver qualified 15th on Thursday. He could only manage a best of 16th in the two races, but considering the high reliability across the field, this result proves the team’s improvement.
Local hero Daniel Abt had a positive start at the German capital. The 2018 Berlin ePrix winner started both races from 21st place, climbing positions during both races. In the second round of the Finale, he leads the team’s charge with a 16th place finish. These 2 races also further helped Daniel to settle into the team and witnessed his popularity among fans with a double win in the FANBOOST.
After Friday’s rest day, the teams will be back at the Berlin Tempelhof airport field to face the traditional layout of the circuit. The excitement of electric racing will surely resume.
