The registration figures for electric cars in Germany are increasing significantly. Compared to the previous year, they increased almost five-fold as at October 2020. Along with the Renault ZOE and the VW ID.3, the Hyundai Kona Electric is particularly popular. The electrified compact SUV particularly impresses with its range. The Korean car even set a record in this discipline at the EuroSpeedway Lausitz: Three production versions each managed more than 1000 kilometers with a single charge. And what if the long-distance talent could also transport the bicycles for the next tour? This is where Rameder, Europe’s largest supplier for car accessories, can help. The online shop www.rameder.eu offers the right towbar as well as a large range of suitable bike carriers for the electric car.
The trend for taking bicycles along with the car is not just a subjective impression. Rameder can back this up with hard numbers. The German company recently learned in a survey that 44 % of customers who order a towbar with installation intend to use it for transporting bicycles only. “Renault ZOE, Jaguar I-PACE and the Hyundai Kona are popular electric cars that are ideal for transporting bicycles. We offer our customers the right towbar as well as a variety of different bike carriers,” explains Jens Waldmann, Marketing Manager at Rameder.
For the Hyundai Kona Electric with its impressive range, owners can go to www.rameder.eu to find two different towbars which are designed for bike carriers and trailers. The rigid version has a screw-on towball. Those looking for a detachable model are also catered for by Rameder: This towbar is inserted from underneath and is additionally secured against theft with an integrated lock. Both versions have identical key characteristics: The maximum towing capacity is 1250 kg, the vertical load is 104 kg and the D-value is 8.5 kN. This makes it possible to transport two electric bicycles, for example – for a “fully electric” experience!
