Last year, the Chinese driver finished 3rd in the F3 Asian Championship with multiple victories.
Signing the future of Chinese motorsport is the latest step of the team operated by Chinese motorsport industry giant Lisheng Racing Co. LTD of its 333 Racing Academy which was launched by the team in December 2019. This initiative marks an exciting start for the future endeavour of Chinese motorsport.
Joining Daniel in the sister NIO-005 FE car will be 3 times FIA F2 race winner, former Ferrari Drivers Academy member Antonio Fuoco. This will be the Italian driver’s first Formula E outing since setting third quickest time in the Marrakech rookie test last season.

As a rising star, Daniel has proven his ability in the Asian motorsport community with impressive results. We hope he is able to quickly settle into the style of electric racing, especially the difference in driving style, and getting fully prepared to fight at the top level in potential race opportunities in the future. We also hope this is an encouragement for fellow Chinese young drivers to keep putting their hard work into motorsport."
