Shortlist announced in the hunt to find the Nation’s Favourite organic product 21 May 2019
The Nation’s Favourite organic product is a step closer to being crowned as the public’s top 10 organic products are announced today (21 May).
A tight contest has seen over 300 brands and products nominated and almost two thousand votes cast so far.
Now, the 10 products that have received the most public votes face a further battle to become the Nation’s Favourite organic product, as part of the Best of Organic Market (BOOM) Awards.
Run by Soil Association Certification, the UK’s largest organic certification body, the BOOM awards are a chance to celebrate the very best of organic food and drink.
The winning product will be announced at an awards ceremony at Oval Space, London, on 26 June hosted by 2019 BOOMbassador and Wahaca co-founder, Thomasina Miers.
Open from Monday 20 May to Monday 3 June, the final round of voting will take place on the Soil Association website and social media polls on the organic certification body’s Facebook, Twitter and Instagram channels.
The shortlist of 10 products celebrates the wide range of organic products now being enjoyed by shoppers across the country, from gin to cheddar cheese to nut butter. The shortlist is:
Abel & Cole - Guernsey Milk, Organic, Whole Booja-Booja - Fine de Champagne Chocolate Truffles Borough Broth Company – Free-Range Organic Chicken Bone Broth Fatty's Organic Spirits – Fatty’s Organic London Dry Gin Godminster - Vintage Organic Cheddar Milk & More – Organic Semi-Skimmed Milk in Glass Nutcessity - Carob & Cashew Nut Butter Riverford Organic Farmers – Seasonal Organic Veg Box Whole Earth - Organic Crunchy Peanut Butter Yeo Valley Organic - Natural Yoghurt

By voting for your favourite organic product, you’re playing your part in supporting a more sustainable food system that works with nature to protect the soil, encourages wildlife, avoids antibiotics and reduces pesticide use.
“Hundreds of organic products have been launched in the last year alone and the BOOM awards get bigger and better each year. The final shortlist shows what an exciting range of organic products is now available – it’s anyone’s guess who will win!”
Thomasina Miers, 2019 BOOMbassador, Masterchef winner and co-founder of Wahaca, said: “ I’m thrilled to be part of the BOOMs, celebrating the best of the organic market and the people and businesses creating change in the food industry. Organic farming helps looks after our planet, we all have a part to play and I enjoy shopping and cooking with organic produce to create tasty and nutritious food. I’m so excited about the Nation’s Favourite Award this year and can’t wait to see who the public votes for!”
