Today is World Suicide Prevention Day.

We work closely with our young people to build resilience, self-belief and robust mental health and to give them the tools to help themselves to overcome their obstacles - within themselves and their environments. But we know not everybody has these tools or access to programmes like ours, and we know that as a country we have a devastatingly high incidence of suicide and depression, especially among young people.

It's okay to tell someone you need help. It's okay to reach out to a friend.

If you need to talk, please call Lifeline on 0800 543 354 or Youthline on 0800 376 633.

For more information, visit Life Matters Suicide Prevention Trust or Mental Health Foundation of New Zealand.

We would love if today you reached out to someone, whether you are struggling or not, just to connect and to check in.
